A Surprise Awaited the Amazon Delivery Person…

Just imagine being a delivery person.  Each day is pretty much the same following a route, ensuring the package is delivered to the correct address, taking a picture and going on to the next and the next and so on until the day is done.

That is what occurred with a young man who became a delivery person for Amazon.

He pulled up to my house, got the package, ensured it was correct and full of energy, jumped out of his vehicle – only to slow down and start tip-toeing with an expression of pure awe on his face.

It took me a moment to realize that he probably hadn’t ever seen a lady sitting on the steps, hand feeding a bunny while off to the left was a nearly full grown cat chomping down some kibbles and off a bit further to the right were different types of birds eating seeds and nuts.  Squirrels were hanging around here and there.  This was a regular day for me.

It’s probably not regular for most people though!

So, he tip-toed up and handed me the package while looking at the scene incredulously.  I smiled at him, he smiled back.  I mentioned that he probably hasn’t seen such a scene before and he shook his head “no”.  I let him know that my yard was certified as a natural habitat. “Oh” he said! 

After the delivery person looked around him again, he tip-toed back to his vehicle and drove away.  I’ll bet it’s a delivery that he will tell the story of for some time!
