A Little Rascal Squirrel That Brightens My Day

I did get used to squirrels that knew me when I walked in the park.  I then got used to squirrels that knew my yard.  However, a squirrel that knows exactly where I live, climbs the stair railing and jumps on my screen door to get my attention is very clever!  He has become my very special clever, rascal squirrel but also my utterly precious little friend.

My rascal squirrel looks like he is only a few months old because of his size.  He has skipped the regular formalities that the other squirrels in the neighborhood use.  Formalities such as sitting on back legs, front legs brought to his chest as if a plea for some goodies.  “Please lady, do you have some food for me?”

Nope, no formalities.  He just found his way to my front door and decided that he was going to put a smile on my face.  Smiles are worth a lot more that polite formalities.  Smiles happen when someone is happily surprised.  And, a rascal squirrel that is clever really is one that makes others happily surprised!

He appeared one day and has come back every day since!  Silly me, I give him his food, tell him how clever he is and then, that moment of a beaming smile occurs.  It always finds its way into a dreamscape.  That inspired dreamscape is then seen by others who in turn smile.

My little rascal squirrel friend doesn’t realize how far and wide his influence is!
